Did You Know
Minors are almost twice as likely to have low-birth weight babies. The hospital delivery charges for very low-birth weight babies averaged $75,000 in 2004 compared with $1,200 for babies considered healthy weights.

The Wisconsin Alliance for Women's Health (WAWH) serves to unite, coordinate and amplify the voices of Wisconsin's women's health supporters to protect and enhance access to comprehensive health care and information. Our members and leaders include Wisconsin organizations and their representatives who are dedicated to broadening and strengthening the base of awareness and support of reproductive health as a critical component of women's health.

Since June of 2004, Sara has been leading the effort to develop a new organizational coalition to unite, coordinate and amplify the voices of women's health supporters in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Alliance for Women's Health is dedicated to advancing comprehensive women’s health in Wisconsin by engaging, educating, empowering and mobilizing individuals and organizations. Prior to assuming this role, Sara was the Northeast Director of Membership and Professional Relations for the Wisconsin Medical Society. She received her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. She was a 2009 Mid-America Public Health Leadership Institute Fellow and currently serves as a Steering Commttee member of the Wisconsin Covering Kids & Families and board member of the Wellness Center for Door County. In 2010, Sara received a Champion of Women's Health Award from the Wisconsin Women's Health Foundation.
